Bærum, west of Oslo, has two centres of club chess. Bærum Schakselskap plays on Thursday evenings in Bærum Idrettspark at Rud, where its youth club and SjakkAkademiet train too; its programme opens the club evenings to guests from other clubs and includes the Bærumslynet and Bærumsrappen Grand Prix tournaments.
In Bekkestua the Dragulf group has its base at Sjakklinja, the chess line of Norges Toppidrettsgymnas: Dragulf Akershus USK runs games evenings for school-age children there and at Bekkestua barneskole, while Dragen Sjakklubb, the group's adult club, plays lightning, rapid and classical evenings on Thursdays. Fornebu sjakklubb, registered in 2023 for children and young people, has no page that shows recent play.
