Lynsjakk: lightning chess at Oslo clubs 19

Lynsjakk is the Norwegian word for lightning or blitz chess, games of a few minutes a side that let a club play a whole tournament in one evening. Oslo Schakselskap runs Tirsdagslyn every Tuesday of the year in Bogstadveien and a monthly super-lightning event; Stjernen plays a Saturday lightning tournament at three minutes plus two seconds; Kampen på Brettet mixes lightning and rapid on Tuesdays; Rustad Sjakk hosts the Rustadlynet Grand Prix at Rustad skole.

Outside the city, Bærum Schakselskap keeps a lightning league on its Thursday evenings, Lillestrøm and Vestby hold lightning tournaments that appear on the FIDE rating list, and Asker Schakklubb invites players to lightning on Monday evenings at Venskaben in the town centre.
